Frequently Asked Questions

Where do tarot cards come from?
We know very little about the origin of the Tarot de Marseilles, but we can however that the Tarot de Marseilles deck appeared in France during the reign of King Charles VI. When Charles was declared insane, he was locked up in a castle by his wife Isabeau of Bavaria. Odette de Champdivert, his mistress brought him a deck of Tarot cards.

In fact, these tarot cards were composed of 56 paperboard pieces decorated with figures and signs. These cards were used by Saracens in the Middle East. Charles VI asked Jacquemin Gringonneur to redraw the figures in order to make them look prettier. Some claim that the first illuminations of the cards appeared in Italy but the work of this artist is listed for payment in the journal of Charles VI's banker.

The Tarot we talk about here was not a divination Tarot but a card game; which still exists and is still used in Mediterranean countries. Although opinions are divided and the experts seldom agree, the Divinatory Tarot de Marseilles was born from this game.

Twenty-two major arcana were associated to the fifty-six basic cards (minor arcana). These major arcana are more often used than the minor arcana. The graphics of the Tarot de Marseilles look medieval and reflect the ideology of that time when people sought perfection in medieval icons.

What Is Cartomancy
Playing cards probably came to Europe in the fourteenth century from the Middle East. There are plenty of references to playing cards from 1377 onwards. Tentative connections have been made with very early cards found in China from the tenth century. It is thought that European playing cards are based on Mamluk playing cards. These Islamic playing cards do not have pictures, instead there is an elaborate suit sign with a title: Malik (King), Na'ib (Viceroy) dan Na'ib Thani (Second Viceroy). The suits are Cups, Polo Sticks, Swords and Coins.

Telling fortunes using playing cards is well known as being used by the Gypsies. But wherever cards are played, they are used for divination purposes also.

Playing cards vary from country to country according to the number of cards included in each deck, the suits used and which court cards appear. Decks may also come with 2 or more jokers. Usually the jokers are not included in divination but some readers choose to use them and give them Joker the meaning of the Tarot Fool (New developments, fresh starts, taking a risk).

However, the Joker is not actually a descendant of the Tarot Fool. Instead, it was an American invention in the 1860's for the game of Juker (now known as Euchre) where it was used as the "Best Bower". By the 1880's the Juker had become the Joker and had started appearing in decks all around the world.

What is Channeling
Channeling (also called psychic reading or channeled reading) is the reception of thought from the spirit world for the purpose of communicating with spirits (non-corporal entities, spirits of the deceased, or nature spirits) and angels.

The person receiving and passing on the information is called a medium or psychic reader. Some mediums go into a full trance, allowing spirit to take full control over their body, permitting spirit to speak through the medium directly. Other mediums use a meditative state to connect to spirit. Some of these use automatic writing, which is the process where the hand moves by itself to scribble words. Others use a form of telepathy, receiving thoughts from spirit in their minds. By sensing which thoughts are theirs and which are spirit, they learn to distinguish and can pass on the information received with much clarity.

During this form of telepathy, most mediums merge their own aura (energy field) with the energy field of the spirit, achieving a good mental connection. Often not only thoughts can be transmitted, but also images and even feelings. Some mediums appear to hear voices which others cannot hear, or clairaudience.

While there are a number of talented genuine channelers with a good connection to spirit, some are not actually connected with the entity they claim to channel, instead they have been fooled by lower astral beings who pretend to be an angel or another higher entity. Messages from such entities can be identified by observing what they promote: If it is the ego (often giving the receiver messages that make them feel proud), the message is more likely to come from lower realms and should be handled with great caution. If the messages instead promote deeper understanding, forgiveness, and love, it is much more likely this stems from higher realms.

It must be noted that a number of claimed mediums, especially those appearing before large audiences, are fraud, sometimes using technology or trickery to convince their audience of their powers, which has damaged the reputation of channeling.

Channeling dates back to early human history in that shamans have been using some form of channeling over millennia, and it became very popular in the mid 1800s. Some of the best known mediums are Edgar Cayce (1877-1945), Aleister Crowley (1875-1947), Jane Roberts (1929-1984) and Allan Kardec (1804-1869), who fathered the term “spiritism“.

What is a Tarot Card Reading?
The Reader, through the cards, tunes into what your life is like at the moment of the reading. It can show unseen influences, patterns of behavior, obstacles and strengths happening here and now. It can be a roadmap for how to get somewhere and make choices that will benefit you.

Using the symbols in the cards of the spread, the Reader can tell you what the cards suggest and a likely outcome if you take positive action on those suggestions. With the insight through a Tarot reading, one is better equipped to make decisions and take action that's in line with your best interests, growth and development.

Should the reading contain a future outcome card, it must be understood that it is a projected result of all aspects of your life if everything remains the same. But change just one factor, adjust just one tiny viewpoint and the outcome and your future have changed.

The Tarot helps you take responsibility for life as you have created it. Guidance and empowerment to make the good changes in your life are what the cards offer. If you are open to the honesty of the reading, you can receive key information to make it through crossroads and times of choice so that you grow and gain experience.

A Tarot reading must NOT be used as a substitute for competent medical, legal, financial or psychiatric care! It cannot provide you with diagnosis, treatment or answers to serious money or psychological problems. If you are under competent care, a Tarot reading can help you gain a deeper understanding of your problem. Sometimes an impasse or blockage can be identified and used when conferring with your professional. A good Reader can show you what is "crossing you" in Tarot terminology and open your mind to moving past something that has delayed your moving forward.

Being able to identify what has mentally or emotionally stood in your way can work well in breakthroughs with your professional counselor. It could allow you to make real and lasting changes in your life and find fulfillment.

Through a Tarot reading, you can gain insight into hidden factors of a problem, ideas about how to deal with your dilemma and hope that you don't have to remain stuck wherever you are. It can even help you find answers to deeper questions you weren't even aware you wanted to have answered.

Remember, the Tarot reading impels... it empowers you to help yourself create a more satisfying and fulfilling life...
What Is a Clairvoyant?

Noun: clairvoyant; plural noun: clairvoyants - a person having or exhibiting an ability to perceive events in the future or beyond normal sensory contact. One who has a supernatural ability to perceive events in the future or beyond normal sensory contact.

In an article from we find that Clairvoyance is an enhanced development of our natural 'sixth sense', which is our ability to know things even when they are not obvious and to understand things we have never learned.

Literally Clairvoyance means 'clear seeing'. It is the ability to see things with full perspective, which includes the past, present and the potential future. Energy fields, called Auras, which surround objects and people, can also be seen and interpreted using this ability.

In truth this 'seeing' is really an awareness of thoughts, feelings and alternate dimensions of reality - movements of energy that are very real, but invisible to the human eye. This awareness is then translated through the physical senses (touch, taste, smell, sight and hearing) of a Clairvoyant.

Each Clairvoyant will use one or more of these physical senses to channel their awareness through. The more developed the Clairvoyant, the more senses they will use. The best way for a Clairvoyant to develop their psychic gift is to develop these 'real' senses or simply to keep growing and learning on a down to earth human level.

There is also a higher form of Clairvoyance which seems to transcend everything and allows all six senses to merge into one whole sense of 'knowing'.

This Higher Clairvoyance comes as the result of faith and prayer; from the belief that there is a Higher Being or Higher Source of Knowledge which is guiding each and every one of us through the school of life. Faith allows guided information to flow directly from this Source and to the recipient of the Clairvoyant Reading or Clairvoyant Healing. The intention is that the best information is accessed in order to help a person find their greatest clarity and truth so they can make the best decisions for themselves and their loved ones.

For anyone desiring a Clairvoyant Reading, they will find themselves naturally drawn to the type of Clairvoyant that is best for them at that time. A business man who wants nothing to do with faith and who just wants to know which decision would work to his best advantage will likely be guided to a Clairvoyant whose basic personality is no-nonsense, detached and informational. A fragile and sensitive person will likely be guided to an unconditionally gentle Clairvoyant who works with high levels of faith.

A great amount of trust is needed in all of these issues. A person needs to trust they will find the right Clairvoyant to guide them, and then trust in themselves to listen to what they receive and then truly decide which information is relevant and what holds no relevance at all. The Clairvoyant needs to trust in their gift to provide clear vision, in themselves to translate the information faithfully and in the outcome of a session, trusting it will be positive and uplifting to all concerned.

The best Clairvoyants are those who have done a lot of real human living, learning and experiencing through life. The more the character and personality of the Clairvoyant is developed, the greater potential and full spectrum span they have to use when presenting their gift. This allows them to reach more people, from all walks of life, in a more definite and productive way.

What is Clairaudience?
In the field of parapsychology, clairaudience [from late 17th century French clair (clear) and audience (hearing)] is a form of extra-sensory perception wherein a person acquires information by paranormal auditory means. It is often considered to be a form of clairvoyance. Clairaudience is essentially the ability to hear in a paranormal manner, as opposed to paranormal seeing (clairvoyance) and feeling (clairsentience). Clairaudient people have psi-mediated hearing. Clairaudience may refer not to actual perception of sound, but may instead indicate impressions of the "inner mental ear" similar to the way many people think words without having auditory impressions. But it may also refer to actual perception of sounds such as voices, tones, or noises which are not apparent to other humans or to recording equipment. For instance, a clairaudient person might claim to hear the voices or thoughts of the spirits of persons who are deceased. In Buddhism, it is believed that those who have extensively practiced Buddhist meditation and have reached a higher level of consciousness can activate their "third ear" and hear the music of the spheres; i.e. the music of the celestial gandharvas . Clairaudience may be positively distinguished from the voices heard by the mentally ill when it reveals information unavailable to the clairaudient person by normal means (including cold reading), and thus may be termed psychic or paranormal.
What is Clairalience?
Clairalience is probably the least known and least popular "clair" since it doesn't give as much information as clairvoyance, clairaudience, claircognizance and clairsentience. Basically, it is defined as "clear smelling," and is the ability to receive impressions of certain smells from spirit. This skill is usually considered a "bonus," to help the reader come up with extra information. A frequent example is that of smelling cigarette smoke when contacted by a deceased grandfather who smoked, or smelling a certain perfume associated with a grandmother. There are also many reports of people smelling flowers, in which case they associate the scent with the presence of higher beings such as angels.

Different smells can arrive unexpectedly, so it can be difficult to determine their meaning immediately. When this happens, work with your intuition or speak out to the scent and see if you get any response from the spirit attached to it. Smell is very subjective, so you need to spend time figuring out what it means to you and where it is coming from.

It has been reported by some readers that they can actually "smell" a person's aura and identify the color(s) it contains. Each aura color is said to have a specific aroma that, with practice, can be easily identified.

What is Clairsentience?
The psychic ability of clairsentience means clear sensing. Clairsentience means the gift of being able to sense psychic information. Originally clairsentience was associated with the ability to sense smells sent by the spirit world, in particular familiar smells identified with deceased loved ones.

A clairsentient can be compared to a psychic sponge because they literally soak up everything around them in the environment. It's possible for them to sense a person's health challenges and this can be a very heavy burden. There is a great deal of the empath in most clairsentients. Because of this they often need to take more steps in order to protect and ground themselves than other psychics.

It is an interesting gift without a doubt but can also be a little frustrating at times. "Knowing" or sensing an answer to a client's question doesn't always give as much information as might be desired to be helpful. As a somewhat silly example everyone knows that the earth orbits around the sun but would be hard pressed to state all the science behind it. Knowing it and being able to understand why it is so are two completely different things.

Psychics who are clairsentient are able to retrieve information from houses, public buildings and outside areas. It is also one of the senses used in psychometry and aura sensing. Many people have this ability without realizing it. These are the ones who talk about getting a “gut feeling” – good or bad – when meeting someone, during a purchase or when entering a building

Empaths frequently have the added ability of clairsentience so that their sensitivity to their surroundings and emanations are greatly heightened. These are the folks who get a feeling when a loved one is in danger or know when someone is approaching them before they turn around. They also “know” where a lost object can be found because they sense its location.

A clairsentient can often times “see” another person's aura and identify what the person's talents and problems are. Some of the finest medical intuitives are strongly clairsentient.

What is Claircognizance?
Claircognizance is a very useful but unpopular skill. It means "clear knowing." In short, you have a knowing about things; the only problem is, you never seem to know HOW you know. You just do. It seems to come from nowhere. Some people mistake claircognizance for intuition or gut feelings, but there's a difference between the two. Intuition is more based on feelings or emotions, whereas claircognizance is focused more on specific bits of knowledge, such as knowing details of a stranger's relationship situation or knowing deep down that you have lived in another world. Claircognizance usually comes to you from spirit. It's basically your guides or other higher entities dumping information into your head.

Claircognizance is the ability for a person to acquire psychic knowledge without knowing how or why he or she knew it. The user can gain information about a person, object, place, or event through intrinsic knowledge, as in it just "comes to" the user's mind.

Claircognizance means clear-knowing. It is that you know something, and (often) without memory of how you got to know it or why you know it. It's just a simple fact that you know and that you can't deny it (with some things). Though it can be very hard to get confident on things that aren't so clearly undeniable.

"Don't ask me why because I don't know"

Explanation via Models

Spirit Model - From the view of someone whose craft is based on the spirit model, explaining claircognition is fairly simple. A sentient spirit tells the user the requested information, or in some cases, even manifests that information with great accuracy. The spirit might or might not include traits of emotions in the process. Some might define it also as a 'information sharing' ability between the spirit and the user.

Information Model - The view of someone whose craft is based on this model might have a more accurate explanation. Everything being data (again, it's a model, there isn't any absolute truth in this domain so far) , everything can be copied and pasted for one's understanding, every bit of data copied and decoded, the nearby information as well. Someone with this capability can , and will, be a sharing point between different information sources.

Occurances - Claircognizance takes shape in many, many ways. Like knowing if somebody lies, or "having that gut feeling" that you shouldn't take that road without knowing why. Or taking your bag/ stuffing something into it, and it turns out you suddenly needed it (or you "just knew" you had to take that).

Developing - Have confidence! Learn to trust yourself, gain confidence in your ability. I cannot deny some things I know, that is simply because I am unable to, like denying I need oxygen to breathe. But I doubt everything I can doubt, and I know many other people do that too. But you don't have to do that. If you feel like taking that other route, why don't you take it. It can be difficult to see if you do the right things, so pay attention to all good things, like standing less in traffic jams.

You can develop it by automatic writing. Take a pen and a piece of paper and ask yourself a question. Write whatever comes into your mind in response, but don't allow your mind to think about the information you're getting.

Another way to further develop is to use this ability. For this technique you are going to need a pack of normal playing cards. Now open the pack and take the jokers out of the deck and shuffle the deck, then lay the deck of card face down on the floor. Then take the top card of the deck and lay it face down, and do not look at the card. Now place your hand over the card and blend your energy with the card and clear your mind of all thoughts and focus on the card. Without guessing, see if you can read whether the card is black or red, and when you're ready turn the card over. If you are right, place it in the right pile and if you are wrong place it in the wrong pile. Then take the next card of the deck and place it face down and try reading it. Do this for all 52 cards and be honest with your self. There is no point it cheating, you're only cheating yourself. On a note pad or in Notebook record how you went and try again the next day see you go. Do this daily for best results.

Use - Being able to just know things without any source can gain you many insights and can help your life.

Detecting lies - 'Knowing things from people' (like if someone is having a bad time) Insight in choosing/ making decisions

Enlightenment - To do this ability just think about what the right answer to your question is until you are enlightened when it comes to knowing what the right answer is. Before you try out this ability practice it. One way to practice it is to use a coin with two different pictures on each side. Just flip the coin in the air and then catch it.Then try to figure out which side is facing upwards, heads or tails. Keep practicing this ability until your brain does not have enough energy for this ability. When this happens take a break and wait until your brain has fully recovered before practicing again. Also take note of anything that you experience while practicing, like for example feelings. Remembering these experiences may help you a great deal. With practice and time you will start to achieve significant progress.

Positive Reading - To do this ability all you need to do is be 100% positive that you will find the right answer to your question while trying to figure out what the right answer is. When doing this, you will say the right answer to the question out loud. If you do not say the right answer out loud, it is because either something is blocking or obscuring your ability to use this ability or because you do not have the ability to do this ability at all, so if this ability does not work, examine yourself (especially your brain and/or mind) and try to find out why it does not work for you. (Take note of how you feel when you try using this ability and take note of how you feel before and after you try using this ability. (Especially in your brain and/or mind) This will help you greatly.

Pointing Search - To use this ability to find an object all you need to do is point with a finger to where you think the object you are looking for is and while doing this put literally every thought that you have in the tip of the finger that you are pointing with. Also, this ability might not work right away and may take practice and getting use to to finally work. Plus, while practicing, take note of any sensations that you feel, doing this can help greatly. Also, when your brain feels drained of energy and you feel discomfort in your brain stop practicing and wait until your brain has fully recovered before practicing again. One way to practice is to use two different playing cards, like for example a jack of clubs and an ace of hearts. Shuffle them until you do not know which card is which, then put each one on a table or some flat surface face down. After this, practice this ability. Use it to find one of the cards. Keep practicing and remember any sensations that you may feel and remember anything you might learn when practicing. Follow these instructions and you will master this ability sooner or later or maybe even sooner than you think.

What is Triskaidekaphobia?
Our fear of the number 13 is felt to be irrational. Here directly from is the rationale behind it and some history, too.

Triskaidekaphobia (also being referred to as 13-digit phobia) is the irrational fear of the number 13.

Most people with triskaidekaphobia have an immersive and ongoing phobia / fear of the number 13.

The premise of phobia or fear of the number 13 is usually challenging to explain, but in some cases, its causes are linked to panic-related experiences or genetic conditions.

Fear of the number 13 can be handled by psychologist using exposure therapy in combination with drugs.

The term comes from Greek, where tris means three, kai means and, deka means ten and phobia means fear.

Number 13 - Connotations

The number 13 wasn't always bad-famed, quite the contrary. In ancient China and Egypt, thirteen was considered a lucky number. It is unclear when exactly did 13 become an unlucky number.

Some attribute it to the Bible, where the Last Supper was attended by 13 people, and some speculated that the 13th person at the table was Judas, who later betrayed Jesus. However, there is no reference to support this theory.

Another belief is that the phobia of number 13 is caused by it being an irrational number and 12 being the number of perfection.

There are 12 months in a year, 12 zodiacs, 12 hours in a clock and there were 12 tribes of Israel.

Recent polls and studies show that around 9-10% of Americans are superstitious about the number 13. However, not all of them are triskaidekaphobes. Similar studies for other countries do not exist, however it is prevalent in western culture mainly.

In China the number 13 is not considered bad, but instead the number 4 is considered unlucky. The term for the fear of number 4 is called tetraphobia.

Although it may seem trivial, triskaidekaphobia is an issue that affects western societies economically. Because of the superstition, some people delay doing business on the 13th of any month, while statistically there are more people who do not go to work on the 13th day of any month because of this superstition.

Friday is also considered to be an unlucky day in western culture.

Although it is unsure where the origin of the fear of Friday comes from, it may be based on the belief that Jesus was crucified on a Friday. Thus, the number 13, associated with Friday is considered especially unlucky.

The term for the fear of Friday the 13th is paraskevidekatriaphobia.

It is estimated that the United States loses about $900,000,000 in productivity every year because of Friday the 13th as some people are so superstitious about it that they wouldn't even get out of bed.

Triskaidekaphobia treatment

Although there is no 100% sure method to treat triskaidekaphobia, if you feel it affects your life, it is a good idea to talk to your doctor who could recommend you a therapist. You will probably be exposed to your fear and make you understand your phobia. In many instances the treatment is successful, although it may be challenging to find a good therapist if you don't live in an urbanized area.

If you don't have access to a therapist, it is a good idea to talk about your fear and try to understand it yourself. At the end of the day, even with a therapist involved, you are the only one who can cure your phobia.

What is Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient Japanese technique meant to assist in stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is a combination of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

Reiki treats the whole person to include body, emotions, mind and spirit. It creates many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well being.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in creating a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

An amazingly simple technique, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. It is passed on during an "attunement" given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve health and enhance quality of life.

One does not have to be an intellectual or spiritually developed to learn and use Reiki. It is available to anyone who has a desire to use it for the purpose of helping others. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds.

Reiki is spiritual in nature but is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from The Universal One, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it.

Even though Reiki is not a religion, it is still important to live and act in harmony with others. Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki system of natural healing, recommended that one practice certain simple ethical ideals to promote peace and harmony, which are nearly universal across all cultures.

During a meditation several years after developing Reiki, Mikao Usui decided to add the Reiki Ideals to the practice of Reiki. The Ideals came in part from the five principles of the Meiji emperor of Japan whom Mikao Usui admired. The Ideals were developed and included to add spiritual balance to Usui Reiki. These ideals are meant to help people realize that healing the spirit by consciously deciding to improve oneself is a necessary part of the Reiki healing experience. In order for the Reiki healing energies to have lasting results, the client must accept responsibility for his/her healing and take an active part in it. The Usui system of Reiki is more than just the use of the Reiki energy. It must also include an active commitment to improve oneself in order for it to be a complete system. The ideals are both guidelines for living a gracious life and virtues worthy of practice for their intrinsic value.

What is Astrology?
Astrology is literally defined as "the Science of the Stars", from the Greek astrologia: astron (constellation; star) and logia (study of; ordering principle; utterance). It is a body of knowledge of the cosmos along with the way the stars give meaning to our lives.

A person who practices astrology is called an astrologer. A very ancient, discipline, it seeks the meaning and application of the influences of the planets, stars and other celestial events in our lives. Astrology and astronomy have now become separate studies; though for most of human history they were one and the same thing.

Astrology has found that the symbolic relationships between the heavenly bodies are significant, and can be seen as a map or blueprint to allow us to explore ourselves, our relationships and our place in the world. This is expressed best by Hermes Trismegistus in his maxim: “As Above, So Below.”

Astrology can give us insight into all manner of things, from the personal to the political and from the most intimate to the most mundane. Because astrologers generally take a holistic view of the world, we can see that there is a spiritual connection between all things, even the planets, the stars and us.
What Is a Medium?
In an article by Craig Hamilton-Parker we find that a medium is a person able to communicate with the dead. This ability is known as mediumship. A mediums primary objective is to give proof of the survival of the human personality after physical death. (Synonyms: spiritualist, spiritist, necromancer, channeller.)

Most mediums hail from Spiritualism – a religion started in 1848 after the spirit world made contacted through the mediumship of the Fox sisters at small house in Hydesville USA. This is considered by Spiritualists to be the first demonstration of modern mediumship. Margaret Fox went on to give the first public demonstration of mediumship in the Corinthian Hall, Rochester, New York.

For many years it was illegal to practice mediumship and many of the early Spiritualists had to practice in secret. Mediums were championed by many great men and women during this period despite the fact this could easily discredit their careers and was considered scandalous by many.

Some of the most famous people to stick their necks out were Robert Owen, Socialist reformer and co-founder of the Co-operative Society, the scientist Sir William Crookes, Sir William F. Barrett who founded the Society for Psychical Research, the great physicist Sir Oliver Lodge, the famous journalist Hannen Swaffer and perhaps the most known by people today – the author of the Sherlock Holmes stories Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. (In fact the name “Sherlock Holmes” may be a play on the name of the greatest psychic medium of all time, the levitating psychic medium Daniel Dunglas Home.

Many great minds believed in the power of mediums and proclaimed their allegiance to Spiritualism but it wasn't until 1951 that it became legal with the passing of the Fraudulent Mediums Act which made mediumship legal by removing practitioners from the laws of the Witchcraft Act 1735 and the Vagrancy Act of 1824.

Mediumship Today - For Jane and me presenting mediumship to a modern television audience was initially a challenge. When we were commissioned to work as the resident psychics on the Big Breakfast we were told in no uncertain terms that we were not to give any mediumistic information. We were allowed to make predictions but nothing more. This was because the media were governed by a body called the ITC and the Broadcasting Acts. When the fledgling BBC first looked for moral standards for their broadcasting they turned to the church for advice which was quick to brand mediums and mediumship as ‘occult'. It was a form of necromancy so was therefore excluded from transmission.

Fortunately things have recently changed and it is possible to show some mediumship on cable channels so long as it is treated as entertainment. When shown on mainstream television such as the BBC, ITV, Channel 5 and Channel 5 it has to be challenged by the presenters to give ‘balance' to the programs. This gives the comedians and closed minded materialists such as Richard Dawkins a field day. It is a shame that the same rules are not also applied to science – imaging a David Attenborough programs having to have equal comment from a vicar!

Misconceptions about Mediumship - To become a practicing medium within Spiritualism is not easy. The psychic mediums have to know a lot about their topic, complete courses and most importantly be able to demonstrate in front of a discerning congregation who know their subject. You cannot get away with the flannel and baloney that you often see passing as mediumship – particularly on the ghost hunting programs. Also you will see mediums that were discredited within Spiritualism working on television with impunity.

Jane and I love working on television but we have also worked for many years as platform mediums within Spiritualism. We have also been tested by sceptics on many shows and fought hard to prove that mediumship is real. Most of the fake mediums avoid the challenges.

It is also today confusing for the newcomer to know if psychic mediums are what they say. Since the recent interest from the media many people who in the past would have been called a fortune teller now claim to be psychic mediums. It makes financial sense as the public are realizing that mediums can also give powerful psychic messages as well as communicate with the dead. On this site I have written many additional articles about the differences between a psychic and a medium and how to spot who is real and who is a fake.

The video below gives a very simple explanation of the difference between a psychic and a medium.

The Difference Between a Psychic and a Medium

Terms and Definitions of Mediumship - People love to enhance their brand so you will find other terms for a medium. Some of these can be a little confusing but here are some of the typical deviations to the definition of a medium:
  • Psychic Medium: A medium who also has psychic powers such as the gift of prophecy.
  • Mental Medium: A medium who perceives the spirit through their mind using the skills of Clairvoyance (Clear Seeing) Clairsentience (Clear Sensing) and Clairaudience (Clear Hearing)
  • Physical Medium: Rare nowadays, this is a medium who can manifest ectoplasm so that you can see the spirit
  • Transfiguration Medium: A medium whose face will cover in a spiritual veil and show faces of people in spirit.
  • Direct Voice Medium: A Medium who can manifest discarnate voices in the séance room
  • Trance Medium: A medium who allows the spirits to speak directly through him or her. Americans call this Channelling. Channelling should also contain proof and evidence of survival so watch out for those who are simply speaking 'psycho-babble'.
  • Spiritualist Medium: A medium who is also a Spiritualist
  • Metaphysical Medium: A silly Americanism that hijacks a branch of philosophy simply to sound good. Watch out also for other phony and grandiose sounding titles such as Celtic Medium, Accurate Medium, Medium for the spirit of St Germain, Counselling Medium, Angel Medium and so on. These people probably just want to sound better than they are!.
Definition - Mediumship is also known as channelling. in the USA. It is the practice of Spiritualist Mediums to purportedly mediate communication between the dead and the living.
What Is an Empath?

Noun: empath; plural noun: empaths - a person with the paranormal ability to apprehend the mental or emotional state of another individual.

Are you an empath? Here are 30 of the most common traits from

1. Knowing: Empaths just know stuff, without being told. It's a knowing that goes way beyond intuition or gut feelings, even though that is how many would describe the knowing. The more attuned they are the stronger this gift becomes.

2. Being in public places can be overwhelming: Places like shopping malls, supermarkets or stadiums where there are lots of people around can fill the empath with turbulently vexed emotions that are coming from others.

3. Feeling others emotions and taking them on as your own: This is a huge one for empaths. To some they will feel emotions off those near by and with others they will feel emotions from those a vast distance away, or both. The more adept empath will know if someone is having bad thoughts about them, even from great distance.

4. Watching violence, cruelty or tragedy on the TV is unbearable: The more attuned an empath becomes the worse it is and may make it so they eventually have to stop watching TV and reading newspapers altogether.

5. You know when someone is not being honest: If a friend or a loved one is telling you lies you know it (although many empaths try not to focus on this because knowing a loved one is lying can be painful). Or if someone is saying one thing but feeling/thinking another, you know.

6. Picking up physical symptoms off another: An empath will almost always develop the ailments off another (colds, eye infections, body aches and pains) especially those they're closest to, somewhat like sympathy pains.

7. Digestive disorders and lower back problems: The solar plexus chakra is based in the centre of the abdomen and it's known as the seat of emotions. This is where empaths feel the incoming emotion of another, which can weaken the area and eventually lead to anything from stomach ulcers to IBS (too many other conditions to list here). Lower back problems can develop from being ungrounded (amongst other things) and one, who has no knowledge of them being an empath, will almost always be ungrounded.

8. Always looking out for the underdog: Anyone whose suffering, in emotional pain or being bullied draws an empath's attention and compassion.

9. Others will want to offload their problems on you, even strangers: An empath can become a dumping ground for everyone else's issues and problems, which, if they're not careful can end up as their own.

10. Constant fatigue: Empaths often get drained of energy, either from energy vampires or just taking on too much from others, which even sleep will not cure. Many get diagnosed with ME.

11. Addictive personality: Alcohol, drugs, sex, are to name but a few addictions that empaths turn to, to block out the emotions of others. It is a form of self protection in order to hide from someone or something.

12. Drawn to healing, holistic therapies and all things metaphysical: Although many empaths would love to heal others they can end up turning away from being healers (even though they have a natural ability for it), after they've studied and qualified, because they take on too much from the one they are trying to heal. Especially if they are unaware of their empathy. Anything of a supernatural nature is of interest to empaths and they don't surprise or get shocked easily. Even at the revelation of what many others would consider unthinkable, for example, empaths would have known the world was round when others believed it was flat.

13. Creative: From singing, dancing, acting, drawing or writing an empath will have a strong creative streak and a vivid imagination.

14. Love of nature and animals: Being outdoors in nature is a must for empaths and pets are an essential part of their life.

15. Need for solitude: An empath will go stir-crazy if they don't get quiet time. This is even obvious in empathic children.

16. Gets bored or distracted easily if not stimulated: Work, school and home life has to be kept interesting for an empath or they switch off from it and end up daydreaming or doodling.

17. Finds it impossible to do things they don't enjoy: As above. Feels like they are living a lie by doing so. To force an empath to do something they dislike through guilt or labelling them as idle will only serve in making them unhappy. It's for this reason many empaths get labelled as being lazy.

18. Strives for the truth: This becomes more prevalent when an empath discovers his/her gifts and birthright. Anything untruthful feels plain wrong.

19. Always looking for the answers and knowledge: To have unanswered questions can be frustrating for an empath and they will endeavour to find an explanation. If they have a knowing about something they will look for confirmation. The downside to this is an information overload.

20. Likes adventure, freedom and travel: Empaths are free spirits.

21. Abhors clutter: It makes an empath feel weighed down and blocks the flow of energy.

22. Loves to daydream: An empath can stare into space for hours, in a world of their own and blissfully happy.

23. Finds routine, rules or control, imprisoning: Anything that takes away their freedom is debilitating to an empath even poisoning.

24. Prone to carry weight without necessarily overeating: The excess weight is a form of protection to stop the negative incoming energies having as much impact.

25. Excellent listener: An empath won't talk about themselves much unless it's to someone they really trust. They love to learn and know about others and genuinely care.

26. Intolerance to narcissism: Although kind and often very tolerant of others, empaths do not like to be around overly egotistical people, who put themselves first and refuse to consider another's feelings or points of view other than their own.

27. The ability to feel the days of the week: An empath will get the ‘Friday Feeling' if they work Fridays or not. They pick up on how the collective are feeling. The first couple of days of a long, bank holiday weekend (Easter for example) can feel, to them, like the world is smiling, calm and relaxed. Sunday evenings, Mondays and Tuesdays, of a working week, have a very heavy feeling.

28. Will not choose to buy antiques, vintage or second-hand: Anything that's been pre-owned carries the energy of the previous owner. An empath will even prefer to have a brand new car or house (if they are in the financial situation to do so) with no residual energy.

29. Sense the energy of food: Many empaths don't like to eat meat or poultry because they can feel the vibrations of the animal (especially if the animal suffered), even if they like the taste.

30. Can appear moody, shy, aloof, disconnected: Depending on how an empath is feeling will depend on what face they show to the world. They can be prone to mood swings and if they've taken on too much negative will appear quiet and unsociable, even miserable. An empath detests having to pretend to be happy when they're sad, this only adds to their load (makes working in the service industry, when it's service with a smile, very challenging) and can make them feel like scuttling under a stone.

If you can say yes to most or all of the above then you are most definitely an empath.

What is Numerology?
Numerology is the study of numbers and their symbolism. Numerology is the basis that every number expresses a cosmic vibration as a mathematical value. Mathematicians (530 BC) Pythagoras and (1534 AD) Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa, both maintained the idea that everything in the universe has a numerical association both tangible (being mathematical) and intangible (being spiritual).

There are three major forms of Numerology; Kabbalic, Chaldean and the Pythagorean. While one method is no more or less accurate than another, it should be noted that whichever method resonates most for the Numerologist should be used. A Numerologist is someone who studies the system of number symbolism and integrates their meanings and significance into day to day life as well as in specialized readings. Numerology Charts can help us to explore the personal meaning behind our full birth dates (Life Path), our day of birth (Birthday Number), our full name (Destiny Number), just the consonants in our name (Personality Number), or just the vowels in our name (Soul's Urge). Numerology also has an affect on the meaning of colors, planets, karmic debt, addresses and phone numbers just to name a few.

Numerologists are commonly referred to as 'Number Mediums.' It takes years of experience and study to grasp the basics of Numerology and even the most advanced Numerologists are ever-expanding their wealth of knowledge.

What Are Chakras?
It is said that we have energy points in our bodies that are called Chakras. Each of the centers have spiritual power in the human body, usually considered to be seven in number. Our bodies function well when all seven of these centers are "open" and functioning, For various reasons one or more of the Chakras can malfunction or be blocked.

In this article from we learn what the Chakras represent and which issues correspond to each one.

Blocked energy in our seven Chakras can often lead to illness, so it's important to understand what each Chakra represents and what we can do to keep this energy flowing freely. Here's our quick summary:
  1. Root Chakra — Represents our foundation and feeling of being grounded.
Location: Base of spine in tailbone area.
Emotional issues: Survival issues such as financial independence, money and food.
  2. Sacral Chakra — Our connection and ability to accept others and new experiences.
Location: Lower abdomen, about two inches below the navel and two inches in.
Emotional issues: Sense of abundance, well-being, pleasure and sexuality.
  3. Solar Plexus Chakra — Our ability to be confident and in control of our lives.
Location: Upper abdomen in the stomach area.
    Emotional issues: Self-worth, self-confidence and self-esteem.
  4. Heart Chakra — Our ability to love.
Location: Center of chest just above the heart.
Emotional issues: Love, joy and inner peace.
  5. Throat Chakra — Our ability to communicate.
    Location: Throat.
Emotional issues: Communication, self-expression of feelings and the truth
  6. Third Eye Chakra — Our ability to focus on and see the big picture.
Location: Forehead between the eyes (also called the Brow Chakra).
Emotional issues: Intuition, imagination, wisdom and the ability to think and make decisions.
  7. Crown Chakra — The highest Chakra represents our ability to be fully connected spiritually.
Location: The very top of the head.
Emotional issues: Inner and outer beauty, our connection to spirituality and pure bliss.
What are Spirit Guides?
Spirit Guides are friendly spirits who give knowledge and help on spiritual journeys. Anyone, but especially mediums and those who channel, can have Spirit Guides. They are beyond intuition, they are actually in touch with events and those who have passed on and can translate messages of importance for those on this plane.

Working with Spirit Guides is a transformative process, a building of a bridge to the higher realms giving a loving, caring, purposeful collective higher consciousness that has been called "the All-One," the "Universal Mind" or simply "God."

Spirit Guides can be specific spirits of the dead or some unknown force that wishes to communicate with us. Some refer to them as Angels or Guardians. They can be all of the above.

Some of the more commonly found types of spirit guides:

Ascended Masters - These are guides often found by people who do energy work, such as Reiki. An ascended master who appears as a spirit guide is often a being that led a physical life and has moved on to a higher spiritual plane -- for example, Buddha, Krishna, even Jesus. Ascended masters usually work with collective groups of souls -- in other words, if you've got an ascended master hanging around you, you're not the only one he or she is helping. Their primary focus is that of helping all of humanity. It's not uncommon for an ascended master to have access to Akashic records. They can also be referred to as Master Teacher guides.

Ancestral Guides - An ancestral guide is one who can claim some sort of kinship with you, such as your dear Aunt Tillie who died when you were ten. It may also appear in the form of a long-dead ancestor. In some schools of thought, these entities are seen as reincarnated guides, because they are the spirits of someone who loved us during their physical lifetime, or who had some sort of blood connection to our family.

Common Spirit Guides, or Teacher Guides - A typical spirit guide is archetypical, symbolic or representative of something else. For example, you may find your guide appears in the form of a warrior, a storyteller, or a wise woman, and they have appeared to you for a purpose. Typically, that purpose is to teach you and guide you along a particular path. They may also introduce you to other archetypes along your journey, and help out with problem solving, based upon your needs. They are known to provide insight by way of dreams or meditation, and may only hang around as long as you need them, then move on.

Animal Guides - Although many people claim to have animals as spirit guides, often these entities are more companions than anything else. It's not uncommon for a deceased pet to linger around, keeping you company through the grieving process. In some spiritual traditions, such as various Native American or shamanic paths, a person may have an animal totem, which provides teaching and/or protection.

What is Synesthesia?
Synesthesia (also spelled synæsthesia or synaesthesia; from the Ancient Greek "together", and "sensation") is a neurological phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway. People who report a lifelong history of such experiences are known as synesthetes.

Difficulties have been recognized in adequately defining synesthesia: Many different phenomena have been included in the term synesthesia ("union of the senses"), and in many cases the terminology seems to be inaccurate. A more accurate term may be ideasthesia.

In one common form of synesthesia, known as grapheme - color synesthesia or color-graphemic synesthesia, letters or numbers are perceived as inherently colored. In spatial-sequence, or number form synesthesia, numbers, months of the year, and/or days of the week elicit precise locations in space (for example, 1980 may be "farther away" than 1990), or may appear as a three-dimensional map (clockwise or counterclockwise).

Only a fraction of types of synesthesia have been evaluated by scientific research. Awareness of synesthetic perceptions varies from person to person.

Although synesthesia was the topic of intensive scientific investigation in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it was largely abandoned by scientific research in the mid-20th century. Psychological research has demonstrated that synesthetic experiences can have measurable behavioral consequences, and functional neuroimaging studies have identified differences in patterns of brain activation. Many find that synesthesia aids the creative process. Psychologists and neuroscientists study synesthesia not only for its inherent appeal, but also for the insights it may give into cognitive and perceptual processes that occur in synesthetes and non-synesthetes alike.

"Enhanced Synesthesia" is the ability to enhance and or merge the senses. Users of this ability can perceive two or more different sensory or cognitive responses at once.

What is Palmistry?
Palmistry is one of the oldest studies in the world.

In the original Hebrew of the book of Job (chapter xxxvii, ver.7), we find these significant words: "God caused signs or seals on the hands of all the sons of men, that the sons of men might know their works."

Palmistry is said to have originated in India and then spread throughout China eventually finding its way to Egypt, Greece and then to Europe.

The reading of hands is not a mere superstition. It is a science that was studied by the ancients along with astrology and has developed and been used ever since, right up until this present day.

Despite its suppression throughout the Middle Ages and the prohibited use of it during the reign of King Henry VIII (who banned palmistry and other alternative practices, brandishing those who used it as sorcerers and devil worshipers). It is still flourishing more than ever today, especially in these stressful modern times when we are all searching for truth and answers within ourselves.

Many doctors and psychologists who have investigated its science have shown from their conclusions that hands have the potential to reveal a person's character, health and psychological states.

Although Palmistry is a science and an art, by using psychic intuition a much greater understanding can be achieved.

The one thing that many people do not know about palmistry, is that the lines on the palm as well as the shape of the hands do change, within as little as two-three months.

What are Runes?
Runes are tools used for divination and opening up psychic awareness. They are a set of 24 tiles or stones that contain primitive carvings of characters or letters.

Like the Tarot or I-Ching, you can use Runes to gain messages and spiritual insight. Although not as well- known as some divinatory methods, using Runes can provide you another alternative for conversing with your Higher Self and the Universe.

The Runes actually come from letters of early Germanic alphabets. Many Northern European countries used these runic alphabets in the early centuries AD until the Latin alphabet was adopted. The origin of the word rune is believed to come from an old European word “ru” meaning secret as well as the Old Germanic word “runa” meaning whisper.

Like the Tarot or I-Ching, you can use Runes to gain messages and spiritual insight.

There were several versions of the runic alphabet with variations among different areas including Norway, Sweden, Denmark and the Anglo-Saxon areas of the British Isles. The rune symbols used for present day divination purposes were derived from the Elder Futhark runic alphabet used between 150 and 800 AD. The name Futhark came from the beginning letters of their alphabet: F, U, Th, A, R, K. It's similar to our referencing the English alphabet as the A, B, C's.

A modern rune set includes the 24 letters of the Futhark and one blank tile. The blank tile is known as the Wryd or Odin. This is in tribute to the ancient Norse God Odin who is credited with gifting the alphabet and its wisdom to his people.

Runes were originally used for writing among the ancient Northern Europeans. Even today their remnants can be seen as inscriptions on large stone markers throughout Sweden and other parts of Scandinavia.

While known today for divination, there is little evidence that the Runes were used for magical purposes during the early centuries AD. There is reference to their power in old folk tales and poems about the mystical God Odin, but not much more. In terms of divination instructions from these early times, evidence is yet to found. Today however, the New Age community treasures the Runes as a form of divination.

Reading the Runes - Much like the Tarot, Runes are placed in a spread or pattern of several tiles, and then read. Each symbol has a particular meaning and is interpreted as part of the spread. Inverted symbols also have reverse meanings much like Tarot cards.

Some popular spreads include the Single Rune, The Norns (past, present, future), the Diamond, the Cross, the Circle and the Well of Wyrd. Each spread focuses on a different type of reading or insight.

The Single Rune reading helps to answer a simple question. The Norns refer to three sisters in Norse mythology that decided mankind's fate. This reading focuses on past, present and future. The Diamond reading refers to the shape of the spread and is good for gaining insight into immediate outcomes.

The Cross spread is also named for its shape and is more of a life path reading. The Circle reading tells about romantic energies between two people. Finally, the Well of Wyrd comes from Norse mythology. The Tree of Life receives its water from this well and it was said that Odin discovered the Runes here. This reading is quite complex giving insight into many questions and possible fates.

The Symbols - The 24 symbols each have a particular meaning and interpretation. Most Rune sets come with a booklet containing descriptions of each character. There are also Rune books available that give detailed meanings and interpretations. Here are sample descriptions of the first letters or symbols of the Elder Futhark:

F – Fehu, which means wealth, abundance and success.
U – Uruz, meaning power and strength.
Th – Thurizas, which means force, defense, potential conflict.
A – Ansuz, meaning magic, creative energy and wisdom.
R – Raidho, which refers to a journey.
K – Kenaz, symbolizing illumination, transformative energy.

The Runes are just one more form of divination to help you on your life's journey. You may find that you resonate with this method. Try getting a Rune reading or buying your own set.
What are Telekinesis?
Telekinesis is the psychic ability to directly influence objects using our mind. We can use telekinesis to move objects, vibrate objects, but we can also use it to manipulate time, elements, space, and energy. Telekinesis can also be used to distort material items and has been cited as the power used to manipulate random number generators. There are two levels of it: Micro and Macro Telekinesis. The term Telekinesis originated in 1890 with Alexander N. Aksakof, a Russian researcher who specialized in psychic phenomena. Telekinesis is also referred to as Psychokinesis, which originated in 1914 with the book, On The Cosmic Relations, by Henry Holt, an American author. J. B. Rhine, the American parapsychologist, was a friend of Holt's, and began using the term in 1934. The term Telekinesis was first used as a means to explain the movement of objects by ghosts, spirits, and the like. Later, when it was theorized that living humans might actually be exerting the influence instead of deceased individuals, the term Psychokinesis came into use. Psychokinesis differs from the original Telekinesis in that Telekinesis usually stipulated a spiritual setting or event, like the channeling of the dead, whereas Psychokinesis could occur anywhere. Recently, Telekinesis has again been established as one specific area of Psychokinesis, and is used to cover only instances of moving stationary objects, as opposed to influencing time or causing spacial distortions. This was included as part of the Teleportation Physics Study done by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory in 2004. For the most part, some would consider both Telekinesis and Psychokinesis interchangeable, but this recent development would mean that Psychokinesis can be used as the more all-encompassing term, whereas Telekinesis relates only to its pop culture usage (i.e., moving objects through no physical means). Telekinesis is the power to move objects with your mind. (Such as lifting an apple.) As we get stronger and better at it, we might be able to move heavier things. Telekinesis takes great focus and it would help to meditate and practice frequently though it is not required. A theory on Telekinesis is that energy flows where our attention goes and our attention goes where our focus goes. One idea is that we all are made of the same energy, so we could simply connect with whatever we are trying to move. Another is the Chaos Theory. No matter how small our focus is, it does affect the thing somehow, and greater focus equals to greater effect. Understanding - To do Telekinesis you must be relaxed. A few ways of doing this is meditating for 5 - 30 minutes everyday to clear your mind. You don't have to, but it will help to strengthen your concentration. You must convince your subconscious mind that this is real. To do that, you will need to be in the theta brainwave state that controls the subconscious mind and tell it, "I know how to perform Telekinesis," either mentally or through positive affirmations to yourself. Improve your concentration everyday. Try to do it for 5 -15 mins to improve your Telekinetic powers. Connect with the object: which means visualize the object like an extra arm, or try to blend the energy of your mind with the object and move it. Don't think about it, just move it. Telekinesis is not something you can learn in a day or overnight, it requires everyday practice. The more you practice it, the stronger it becomes. Progression in telekinesis also varies greatly from person to person. Try to boost your concentration, because if you cannot concentrate for long you will not have the patience to progress any further.
What is a Pendulum?
A pendulums appearance is similar to the pendulum which is used in physics or psychology to explain particular theories but these pendulums work by 'psychic forces' the beliefs on the function of them vary. Pendulums although do move in a fashion to answer a yes or no question.

Brief history of the pendulum - These materials or tools go back to ancient times when they looked very different. Then they were used more for dousing which is the art of finding things using metaphysical tools e.g. dousing sticks or pendulums which are the common ones. They were very popular in the Middle Ages and favored a lot until the nineteenth century when they started to fade in popularity. Back then they were mostly made of wood since that was a simple simple material to make them out of. After falling out of in the 20th century they became more popular. The British society of dousing was founded in 1933 and kept the practice alive.

There are many types and appearances of pendulums. Chakra pendulum
These are pendulums with crystals arranged in a line on a chain in the order of the chakras. They usually have a white crystal at the very top where the pendulum is held. At the bottom there is a final crystal which is not part of the chakras. This can be any crystal but the most common is amethyst or rose quartz. These are mostly used to heal and to help with chakras probably as the name suggests.

Stack pendulum
These pendulums are a stack of crystals or rocks in the same order as the chakras. These are not as common nor as attractive but are used the same as the chakra pendulums.

Crystal pendulums
Probably the most common and most popular type of pendulum, these are usually a crystal suspended at the the end of a chain. It can be any crystal or mineral but the most common are amethyst, quartz and agate. The chain on these can be any type of metal, plain or fancy.

These are the original pendulum carved out of wood with usually a simple design engraved onto them and the chain can be metal or string. Paint is rarely applied to this type pendulum. These are the simplest to make and a good project if someone wishes to use a carving knife.

Custom pendulum
There are many additional types of pendulum, and all are worth a try. They can look amazing and really pretty. Custom pendulums are pendulums you have made yourself. These can take a considerable amount of time sometimes taking between an hour to three hours. You can use just about any material as long the pendulum bottom is made of a natural material.

Triangle pendulum
Triangle pendulums are quite rare but very good to use and are recommended for grounding.

Wooden Pendulums What are pendulums used for?

There are many things you can do with a pendulum but here are some of them:
  • Search for water, minerals;
  • To find energetically favorable and unfavorable sites;
  • Investigate your health;
  • Check food, medicines or a vitamins effect on your health;
  • Evaluate romantic compatibility with another person;
  • To find an unborn baby's sex;
  • Figure out your fears or or the cause of why you feel bad;
  • An attempt to establish a successful lottery ticket;
  • Finding solutions to problems and answers to many questions.
How to get to know your pendulum and how to get one
Pendulums are used for many things. The most famous use is for dousing but there are actually probably over 50 uses of a pendulum especially if it is an accurate one.

What is Dousing?
Dousing is using a pendulum to find things, just using the way it swings. This can be very time consuming but can be very worth it.

A pendulum can easily be used for connecting to spirits, angels and so on depending who will 'listen.' This can be a dangerous use of a pendulum as you don't always know exactly what you are talking to. Not the easiest way to talk to a Spirit. A pendulum and how it answers questions can be very limited.

Asking questions is a very common use these days but the questions answered are limited to yes, no, maybe or I don't want to answer. They can be somewhat accurate and well worth a try. Never ask a pendulum the same question over and over as it will annoy it and the pendulum will start playing or joking around with you.

How to keep a pendulum happy and safe
Pendulums are like any divination item and they do need to be respected. All pendulums should have their own bag and cloth. This shows you care about them. You can take them everywhere with you but must keep them safe. Make sure you do not damage yours as they won't like this what-so-ever. They do not like being in the same bag or cloth as another pendulum.

Bathe them in salt water and put them in the sun if they are chakra, triangle or crystal pendulums but make sure the metal does not get wet so that it doesn't corrode or change color. Putting it in salt water cleanses it and keeps the crystal happy.

Pendulum theories - Many people have many beliefs about pendulums and how they work. It's up to you to make or select your own but there are many facts that you will have to accept. The most important one is that pendulums are guided by your spirit guides.

Creating your own pendulum is an awesome venture... it seems to put a little bit of magic into them.
