"Prophecies and revelations; fact, fiction or choice"?
*Disclaimer* the following series contains references to Christianity and God as a power, creator and source of all creation. It is not necessary to share such beliefs to relate to what is shared or offered for consideration. All biblical references are those most widely adopted, accepted and taught within that system of belief.
Part 2
In almost all countries, cultures and from all walks of life we are exposed to various predictions, or rather claims of those that were shown significant information that affects the collective. Within this pattern or existence of what one might call a prophecy; we have a variety of humans chosen (or allegedly chosen) as messengers, receiving detailed information in many forms. There are those that dream prophetically or have lucid dreams during times they are or were fully awake and conscious. Others may literally see figures, golden or white lights and still others audibly hear a voice that is disembodied. In other cultures both those religious and spiritual these predictions or visions of the future and/or coming events are noted through the interpretation of natural resources. The flow of a river, the collection of clouds and stars, even the cycle of the moon phases have been used to foretell the future. And lastly we have those humans described in or by countless terms or names; that use tools of Divination to seek the answers or receive information regarding the future.
Whether a psychic or medium uses cartomancy, or an American Indian tribe relies on the sightings of specific animals or birds; whether bidden or spontaneous, religious or spiritual all share a common theme. To share the knowledge, information or awareness that to that person or in that culture or cult is considered definitive, accurate and transmitted or shared by a higher power.
In most cases those that receive such information directly have no witnesses and their accounting of events must be taken upon their word and that such is unbiased, truthful and reliable. In other situations; it combines not only the faith in another human but the combined belief or system of beliefs that are shared and taken to be the truth. For example when I write the blogs, I rely on my guides to work as liaisons between myself and the creator I recognize (God) to pass along information that is accurate and detailed. In each of the above examples we for the sake of this topic/subject assume that each person and/or group has the highest intentions and feels assured the information imparted to be correct, relevant and most of all the truth.
From as long as humans existed whether the use of drawings, hieroglyphics and later, prophetic writing, from scrolls to books; there have been continuous references to visions or knowledge of the future. Every organized cult, culture, religious or spiritual group has relied to some degree on the prior teachings of what has already been written and decoded and that which is used for continued visions into the future.
There is no doubt that prophecy and revelations have existed since the dawn of man and are still as active if not more so today than ever.
All doctrines from the various religious and spiritual sectors contain numerous references to those that were considered prophets, seer's or those with the ability to read and interpret the signs, symbols and meanings that foretold of that to come. In many instances these were used to judge the upcoming seasons, whether a harsh or mild winter was predicted. In some cases when we relied on that which we could grow, trap or hunt to survive, this information was imperative to our literal survival.
In recent years or even the last decade or more; many have turned to prophets or prophecies to determine the outcome or even end of the physical world or planet. For some matters such as investments, when to buy or sell real estate, the worthiness or potential of a companion or possible life partner has been queried to those that claim and often to do possess supernatural gifts and/or the ability to read, interpret and see the future.
The biggest drawback or obstacle we find in modern prophecy is timing. The majority of the more major and significant declarations are often months if not years ahead, and cannot be proven or disproved until such time passes or the predicted event has occurred.
The other major or significant consideration when dealing with evens the most authentic, genuine and true prophecies and revelations; free will can at times override or supersedes the timing and even the event. Although there are those prophecies that are destined to be as foretold and therefore remain unchangeable and unstoppable as well as not veering from the foreseen path, not all are equal in such respects.
And although the majority of those that follow a specific code, such as scrolls or such examples as the Bible, the Koran and other similar books or detailed, channeled or prophesized writings and codes. In addition these generally outline the basis of these beliefs, who, what and how the earth and all earthlings were created and even possibly the end of times in the sense of the physical planet. Among all of this detailed information and pages in the hundreds containing stories, accounts of interventions witnessed and a myriad of the supernatural and Divine intervention, each of these rely on an interpretation.
Although in general each has an accepted universal meaning, there are branches off of the "tree" (these books, or collections of writings) in which certain parts or references differ in how they are interpreted and therefore how or what they may mean to our past, present and future.
So the prophecies of all, regardless of source and the revelations, again regardless of source can become a complex system of faith, belief, interpretation and... time. There are many of us humans that will never live to see a great deal of such prophecies realized, whether they remain unchanged and are authentic beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Next, some of the current prophecies, and/or those that differ greatly but such outcome when realized shall have profound and lasting effects on all that are witness to the revelations.
