"Into the wild"
Surviving on spirituality

Conclusion

As we connect or reconnect therefore placing our potential for survival to be centered and held within our spirituality, we are then able to exceed limitations and boundaries thus becoming much more than just "survivalists".

To understand the difference of placing our life, journey, self-image, world view and of course any and all relationships within our spirit versus alternate influences, we can look at some examples.

First it must be said, accepted and embraced that our spirituality always exists above our physical body or vessel. Our spirituality continues when the physical body can no longer sustain life. And our emotional survival and identity is limited to that which we feel and can often be altered by experiences, misconceptions and altered perceptions. So it then can be stated that truth, clarity and trust in its purest form can ONLY come from the spiritual self. And that is where the cord and attachment to the collective, to other spiritual beings and of course Divine exists. Our spiritual core or vortex of energy is always the light and no matter the past, present or potential future consistently strives to seek and accomplish all that is our greater good. It is a system of variables, memories both conscious and sub-conscious, patterns, coping styles and skills and what the final product is or becomes. Although spiritual survival IS the highest form of being, it is always enmeshed and to some degree reliant or interdependent on our emotional affect (our feelings whether supported by fact or created) our cognitive functioning (the way we cope, think and to a degree the way we explain life and experiences to self). So while spiritual survival is the highest it maintains connections and awareness of each part of the individual.

One example or analogy would be that of a house or dwelling. The roof represents the spiritual, the walls and interior layout of rooms the logic or cognitive, and the design, the furnishings, colors, and decor symbolize the emotional self. So while the roof may not be especially artistic and is often overlooked in terms of its significant importance; without a solid and complete roof, nothing within the "house" is safe or protected. If we forgo putting a roof on our home or any place of shelter, all that we own is in jeopardy and at the mercy of the weather and all external forces. So the weather or the external cold, snow, rain, sun or ice become all the challenges and experiences we face. While the lay out of the structure, number of bedrooms, windows and the walls and divisions represent our cognitive, logical or coping skills. It also represents what we view as individuals to be convenient, symbolic and fitting to our lifestyle. For those that enjoy entertaining, chances are the home will include a large area to enjoy guests. Or perhaps those that require solitude add a small office, hobby room or library. And as we go further into the details, the colors, wall paper, flooring, furnishings and decor become the display of our emotions. For some bright and eccentric, others muted shades of tan with emphasis on matching colors or themes. In literal building or construction the roof is often erected after the walls are framed, but always prior to the completion of the inside or interior design both in structure and decor. And no matter how detailed we may be; with the internal home being a living reflection of our self-image in living color. The portrayal of all we have become, and that which we imagine ourselves to be. So if we were to indulge our dreams and imagine the possibility of money being of no concern, imagine the various possibilities we would create within our home or as our home. It would become the representation of who we are but also what we wish to be perceived as, so it includes the past, present and future. Now imagine your own creation, the "dream home" without any type of roof. It is easy to see how fragile that interior would become and the never ending process of trying to keep the external out. Whether we live in a dry and arid location or next to the sea with moist, salted air constantly blowing a cool breeze. The creatures from bugs to larger animals would have access to entering with no way of protecting that which is within; our emotional being, our coping, and our ability to live without disruption or in a state of constant chaos. With no roof, it would be a constant, endless battle to "protect" what lies within and furthermore to attempt to remain unaffected by the unavoidable damages that are destined to occur.

The "roof" is absolutely essential as the rest of our home/house cannot maintain its current existence, nor can it grow to a higher or more completed version without the protection and constant only a roof offers.

Our spiritual survival is our roof. It keeps out what needs to be avoided and maintains the integrity of what lies within. It is in a sense the beginning and the end. Without our "roof" everything is at the will of circumstances, obstacles and others. We can perhaps survive and even thrive but only on a very temporary or limited basis. It is absolutely impossible to find peace, calm, harmony and alignment without our "roof".
And even as we grow, explore and add to our true identity, perhaps via our career or within relationships, no matter what we strive towards, envision or seek to attain or achieve. It must all be under the cover or the support, and why spiritual survival is the essential and highest form of life support.

Our spiritual survival is the top floor, the highest influence for allowing all emotional, cognitive and other influences and resources to exist whether as is, or in change or shifts.

Just as there are those that live in homes, apartments or other dwellings that are not secured by a functional roof; leaks, cracks or holes can appear. We can "survive" but that survival is in constant challenge or under constant attack. It becomes a life or distress and worry or stress as we move buckets and pans, trying to protect our "valuables" or avoid continued destruction or even the vulnerability for the cracks or holes to spread, grow and eventually crumble completely. However those that grow to understand the importance and significance of spiritual survival before any other form of survival are provided the highest potential for personal happiness, success and the ability to embrace all future possibilities.

While survival is just that, surviving, going on day after day no matter the difficulty. Spiritual survival is much more; it is the ever present reminder that tomorrow is new. It is the essence of faith, hope and optimism. It is the ability to overcome fear and to define self by the highest of energies. It is the empowerment and embodiment of all that comes from and is of the light, the Divine. It is our spirit our soul, the highest form of all that can be. It is not just surviving but thriving and allows us to follow our path and purpose, our journey, our quest and all that we create in our lifetime.  ~
