"Into the wild"
Surviving on spirituality

Part 1

As part of the communication and teaching I receive from my "guides" (what I recognize as the messengers, translators and teachers of spirituality and all that has been shared with me as gift from God, Divine or creator). I am often led to a movie, song or another form of media so that I am more enabled to understand the higher message by the use of metaphors or perhaps an analogy; and is the case with this series which stems from a movie titled; "Into The Wild".

In part because May consists of strong Mercury retrograde, which we know is always influential and often chaotic or disruptive. And more specifically May is a month that is profoundly Karmic, bringing to the forefront of our energy, being and life that which is fate, destiny or of course Karma. For more details be sure to read my blog from Sunday; May 2016, forecast and monthly guidance.
Without giving away the entire plot for those that may have an interest in viewing this film, a young man with who is actually quite privileged chooses to seek his destiny within the "wild wilderness" of Alaska. This is an experience he chooses to undertake for a myriad of reasons, all of which he chronicles in a daily log or journal that also tells the story of his time in the wilderness, virtually alone or devoid of other humans, only the company of the creatures that inhabit the land, intent on their own journey of survival. The movie is a true story and that I do believe is what makes this film not only fascinating but also the inexplicable drive that he is compelled to follow, not by circumstance or lack of options, but instead as his chosen "meant to be".

For the last few weeks my guides have channeled quite a bit on the subject of choices, meant to be, self-awareness and the parallel lines that no matter the individual or situation, always lead back to our spiritual being. We live in a society so advanced technologically and so fast paced that there is very little that cause reliance on our spirit or soul. From grabbing food at a grocery or fast food chain, to having housekeepers, assistants and even nanny's to raise our children. If we so desired we could rely on others and/or products to literally do anything and everything for us. Of course it does take the financial ability to tap into so many resources, but even the opportunity for prosperity literally waits around every corner.
And while there is no denying the convenience of can openers, beds that adjust to fit our custom shape and sleeping habits, there can also be a loss of that spiritual walk into the wild.

Imagine for a moment our ancestors, each and every item needed had to be self-attained. From hauling water from the river to using twine to build shelter, there was nothing easily provided. And without televisions, computers and I-pods, the only music came from the sounds of nature. And the only shows were the thunderstorms rolling across the sky. For those generations they daily life was wild and survival was not just literally accomplished but our spirituality was at the core of all we did, each pattern or system created existed via our survival on spirituality.

In many countries the customs or expectations especially those coming into adulthood or graduating from college is to travel and explore. And Australia has what is often called a "walkabout"; an endeavor or quest of walking about the land and relying on self for all needs, food, water, shelter etc. In other countries, extensive travel is much more modernized, but there remains a cord to that original process of surviving on spirituality. And there are still those although smaller in numbers that choose to undertake what is sometimes considered "extreme" sports or tests of our will, strength and survival skills by choosing to head into the unknown. Whether climbing the Andres Mountains, backpacking into uninhabited forests, biking (pedal not motorized) across country or setting sail to traverse the globe, the yearning still exists among some.

And from the very wealthy, socialites and privileged to those that come from lower or middle class families, all share that same connection and desire. And whether they realize at the beginning, mid-way or the end, these journeys in reality are paths and attempts at "surviving spirituality" as it is our spirit or soul that pushes us one more step, encourages one more day's travel, or restores the faith it can be done.

And while traveling for the sake of self-reliance and/or to embrace whatever the path has waiting is reason enough to pursue such a promising adventure. We do not necessarily have to wander the bush of Australia, the rain forests of the Congo or the thousands of acres in Alaska still untouched by human hand.

Surviving on spirituality is a way of life, an understanding with one's self and purpose, awareness and the energy and influence that can literally transform even the "average" life or person into that which is anything BUT average!

So join me as my guides share their insight into how we all can survive on spirituality and in doing so profoundly shift our lives' forever ~
