"The energy and support of animals and pets"

As per usual Starz BlogTalk Radio hosts are Natalie AKA StarzCast (Owner/founder/CEO of Starz and affiliates) and myself, Maya AKA StarzMayaMoon.
As always we make a great team and what a fun topic that is so close to both of our hearts. With Natalie's deeply empathic caring, compassion and kindness towards all humans; it only makes sense that extends towards the animal kingdom.
Natalie not only shared inspiring, entertaining and amazing stories about her Maine Coon cat, "Mooshie" who acts more like a dog at times than a cat! But also the various birds she has owned over the years and her daughter-in-laws, - Eclectus parrot "Dixie" who spends time at Natalie's house when her family is away or she just needs the energy of being around Natalie.
Natalie shared some great examples with all of her animals in how just their presence can offer comfort, support and love. As we discussed this topic we both began to realize that there very likely is not a species that once tamed and/or domesticated is not able to offer that transfer of energy.
I was thrilled to talk about my 2 week old litter of puppies; there is something so endearing about all baby animals and having access to these puppies is a true blessing. One cannot remain in a bad mood, whether sad or anxious when surrounded by these gorgeous, amazing creatures.
We also began to explore how we can "imprint" on animals and the majority of those popular as pets often form a closer, intuitive connection when they are obtained young. My pups were imprinted as I help with the whelping process and they recognize and respond to my smell, as their sight and hearing develops they will also learn the sound of my voice and know me visually as well.
Natalie has raised various breeds of cats and birds and feels strongly that imprinting is a process that offers a greater connection for owner and animal.
We don't often stop to think about our pets as having any healing or psychic/intuitive gifts or abilities, but in truth they all do. Within their own breed, species or pack they usually work together and use that intuition to hunt, forage and avoid predators. Once domesticated, those instincts and that strong and natural energy becomes a gift which they constantly give, even when we are not seeking such.
So animals can help to balance our energy, raise our mood, and even help us tolerate physical pain or disease. In fact we are seeing more and more the trend of using various animals to help with all types of diseases and illness. From children with learning disorders such as Autism to therapy dogs that visit hospitals and nursing homes. It is becoming widely accepted that there is something quite special and amazing about these wonderful beings we call "pets"!
