Mythology
According to Greek Mythology Ganymede, a young prince of approximately 15 years of age, and supposedly the most handsome young man in Troy, came to the attention of Zeus, who is said to have changed himself into the shape of an Eagle to swoop down and grab the young Ganymede from off mount Ida where he was tending sheep.
Note**In ancient Greece, it was considered a social norm for an older man to make a young boy (12-19 years) as a lover. **
Zeus took Ganymede back to Mount Olympus to become his servant/lover, serving him drinks whenever he wanted. It is said that one day Ganymede refused to be Zeus’s cup bearer any longer and that he poured out all the wine, ambrosia, and water of the gods, and that as the water fell to Earth, it caused days upon days of rain which caused massive floods that flooded the entire world.
Zeus realising, he has been unkind to Ganymede makes him immortal as the constellation Aquarius.
Traits
Those born under the sign Aquarius are visionaries, and progressive, they love spending time contemplating thinking about how to make things/the world better, and are quick to involve others in this process, which is probably the reason why people born under the sign have so many friends and acquaintances.
