Astral Travel is often associated with the New Age movement, but has in-fact been around for thousands of years, dating back to Ancient China.
In-fact all of us leave our bodies during the night when we sleep, leaving just enough of our soul essence behind to keep our soul connected to our physical body to keep us alive and functioning.
OBE - out-of-body experiences, Astral Travel, Astral Projection can be achieved while awake or through lucid dreaming, deep meditation, or use of psychotropics.
What is the Astral Plane?
The astral plane is an intermediate world of light between the physical realms and the spiritual dimensions.
Astral travel is the ability to project your consciousness or soul outside of your physical body to visit the astral plane.
What is the Purpose of Astral Travel?
Probably the most common reason why people astral travel is to explore the world and visit different places from a different view point. Or to travel through time, space, and other dimensions which aren’t accessible in their physical body.
For many it is a way to visit and communicate with loved ones beyond the veil. Or to hook up with other living like-minded people.
Some people use Astral Travel as a means of healing, while others use Astral Travel as a way to re-visit past lives.
Preparing to Astral Travel
There are various methods that can be used, but for this blog post I will explore just one. For this method light a candle or burn incense. If you have a crystal that you use for meditation hold this in your hand.
Sit or lay somewhere comfortable, where you will not be disturbed.
State your intention - for example I want to visit my grandma in the spirit realms, write your intention down on a piece of paper.
Before you begin your meditation ask your spirit guides or passed loved ones to stay with you for protection.
Say your prayer - the one you generally use prior to meditation, if you don’t have one, say a few words to your guides and give thanks for their help.
If you want to pre-record a meditation to play you can, if not there are many available on the internet you can follow.
At the end of your meditation, thank your guides for their help once more.
