The Full Moon today falls at 27º Cancer 50', Decan 3. Aspect: Trine Ceres/North Node. Fixed Star: Procyon in Canis Minor. Tarot Card: 4 Of Cups. Healing Crystal: Selenite according to darkstarastrology.com
Put the full Moon in a Cancer decan awash in emotionality, and what do you get? Two weeks of volatile moods but also extremely passion and intuition. Inside there might be a tempest raging, but we will learn to display a neutral mask. If we are bitten at this time, we are not twice, but thrice shy! Inside Moon Cancer 3, the twins are playing tug-of-war constantly, so we might find it hard to make a decision.
The jump between playing the angel and devil can be pretty stark, too, at this full Moon. This often means making the best of a reckless choice we made while in ‘devil’ mode. Because of these impulse ‘buys’, this Moon in Cancer 3 can make us tolerate behaviour we might otherwise find reprehensible. It can make those touched by this full Moon appear to be doormats. However, make no mistake, if you betray anyone at this full Moon, they will show you their very, very dark side.
Full Moon Astrology
Moon Cancer Decan 3 style revenge comes right out of the blue and can be totally out of character. The Moon is very strong in this decan in terms of attracting luxury and a comfortable life. This full moon Cancer energy helps us devote time, energy, and resources and direct them towards the family unit. The ‘investment’ pays off in the future when our loyalty is paid back tenfold. So have patience with this full Moon!
Full Moon Trine Ceres
Full Moon trine Ceres is very auspicious and gives us the ability to bounce back from tragedy. If our fortunes fluctuate from one extreme to another, we will be able to take it all in our stride and see the funny side. A sense of humour will get out of the stickiest of situations, but as Ceres is a dark goddess, it can give a dark edge to comedy too.
Full Moon trine Ceres brings together two mother archetypes in a way that is incredibly fertile and nurturing, but there is a budding urgency and slight desperation about it. The mothering could be too cloying, sentimental and smothering, especially since this is a Cancer moon which is also a strong mother archetype.
Ceres is also conjunct the North node. “Ceres is associated with child abuse and abduction. Not to mention narcissistic personality disorder and gaslighting, which is rampant right now. 99% of humanity is like an innocent child, trusting the psychopathic 1% of enslavers.
The percentage feels like it is 10% Plutonic at times, but they get away with it because of those who enable the tyranny, frightened to go against the mainstream. So this Full Moon provides healing to anything that feels invasive or penetrating? You catch my drift… Plus, do not forget that the north node is in alignment with Algol during January.“
Full Moon Fixed Star ~ Procyon
Procyon 25º Cancer 47’, like the Gemini Twins (Also in this decan), has mixed reviews. It is regarded as highly fortunate while at the same time crafty and violent. The little dog seems to be lucky despite its hot, yapping temper. Procyon is described as being “petulant, saucy, giddy,” and can be brave but extremely impulsive, rushing into calamity without thinking. They are real dare-devils and think they are indestructible. Maybe they are since this star is supposed to give “Wealth, fame, and good fortune.”
Procyon is like that annoying, small dog that thinks it’s a Doberman. It will skip around a great lanky dog and confuse the hell out of it. A high-risk strategy, perhaps, but you can’t help admire the little smart-arse. Procyon is geek power at its very best.
The lesser dog rides the constellation of the Unicorn and looks pretty grand in the sky. This helps Cancer Decan 3 gain position by making all the right connections in the right places. “Procyon gives drive and a good sharp mind. Linked with positive stellar bodies, success is made greater, but the native, in order to avoid a fiasco, has always to take care not to be imprudent.”
With Procyon, it’s possible more and more yappy little dog journalist types will feel their consciousness biting them. This will push them to speak out against the Coronation agenda.
There is an interpretation for Moon, specifically on Procyon. Robson says,” Occult interests, restless, never remains long in one place, quarrels with friends, partners and employees” Bernadette Brady says “subject to mood swings, shifts in likes and dislikes, difficulties in maintaining friendships, sudden highs and lows in people’s feelings”
You can see Procyon has a very Mercurial kind of energy. But both Mercury and Venus are retrograde during this full Moon, making them act more like outer planets. The higher octave of Venus is Neptune, while the higher octave of Mercury is Uranus. I’m not sure the retrograde brings out the worst in the planets, but it certainly intensifies its energy. It’s up to us whether we use these energies for good or ill. Think of them as very sharp weapons.
Full Moon Tarot Card ~ 4 Of Cups
The Tarot card associated with this decan is the 4 of Cups. The ambivalence shown in this card fits well with the polarisation of this decan. A card of boredom and apathy on the one hand and daydreaming and fantasizing on the other.
Maybe this card longs for the dramatic mood swings that govern this decan. “The Four of Cups generally brings with it the blues and moodiness. (Cancer decan 3 is the moodiest, Moon ruled decan) In some cases, it can highlight depression… you may have lost touch with reality and are totally ungrounded.
You may have allowed yourself to indulge in daydreams and fantasies and have become too idealistic imaging life to be a certain way.” Teachmetarot. Karmically this card can mean too many lives have been spent procrastinating and waiting for the 100% perfect person or opportunity to come along.
Full Moon Summary
In terms of the current situation, the time of procrastinating is over. More and more people are feeling uncomfortable with the loss of connection with other human beings and the constant surveillance. The Full Moon also taps into a Yod to Mars, another sharp instrument. Mars in Sagittarius, look at the symbols. Both arrows, both piercing devices!
This Full Moon Yod points at Galactic centre, which is at 26º Sagittarius. Zane Stein has some excellent links explaining what this unique point could signify. He quotes Philip Sedgewick “The Galactic Center acts like a satellite dish, directing divinely inspired information straight to the potentially receptive grey matter of our brains. If you believe in God, this might be the voice you hear. Regardless, within this connection, you have the ability to pull down wild information which you would otherwise have no way of knowing.”
With the gaslighting in the media and so much information thrown at us daily, it comes to the point where we need to tune into our internal godhead to make sense of it all. If we can plug into this galactic consciousness, it may help relieve some anxiety. We weren’t made to take in so much global noise 24/7. It’s just not healthy!
Cancer the sign highlights the need to nurture ourselves, and Ceres has a similar theme. We need to be selfish and look after ourselves; we cannot feed others if we starve ourselves. This is a powerful first full moon of the year. It is known as the wolf moon and is especially important for connecting with your higher, inner spiritual power.
Full Moon Crystal Selenite
I have chosen Selenite as my crystal for the Full Moon because it resonates with a Cancerian moon. Even the name is connected with the Greek moon goddess Selene. Her brother Helios is the sun god. When Helios finished his sky voyage, Selene rose from the sea, riding a silver chariot pulled by winged horses.
Selenite supports all the features of this Full Moon. It will:
- Enhance our intuition
- Neutralize negative energy from those around us to whom we are extra sensitive.
- Help us feel safe and secure. (Place it in each of the main corners of the house to form a protective bubble.)
- Stabilizes stormy emotions
- Let us chill and go with the flow
At this Full Moon, tune into galactic consciousness, get out the tarot cards and stimulate your inner storyteller. Emotions are high at this full Moon, so it might be a good time to retreat if you are an extra-sensitive water sign. Definitely a time for self-pampering and avoiding stressful crowds and gatherings. Better to create your own stories than get caught up in negative, external narratives.
