There is a lot of activity in the skies this week. Tomorrow morning, Mercury will go retrograde in the sign of Capricorn…and so we will see issues of taking responsibility for one’s words throughout the next three weeks. This is the fourth Mercury retrograde this year, and it will be taking us into the new year; this retrograde ends on January 8th, 2017.
Mercury retrograde is never looked forward to; there are all sorts of worries that communications will go sideways, computers will fritz out, and cars will develop problems. This may be true, but looking at the Mercury retrograde phenomenon a little closer, we can actually take advantage of the process. Because of the delay factor inherent in these next three weeks, this is a time of reflection and reformulating. If we’re working on a project that needs our mind fully engaged, we can go through the project once, then go back over it, to see if there has been anything that has been missed. Any word with a RE in it - re-view, re-formulate, re-generation - will all be in play while Mercury is in retrograde. It is a good time to do re-search, in order to re-find things that might have been missed during the first go-round. If we go with that mindset, we can deal with Mercury’s re-percussions well!
Mars into Pisces on Tuesday. Mars is a masculine planet with the energies of assertion, passion and enthusiasm. With Mars into Pisces, the Martial energies are tampered down a bit, because of Mars being in a water sign. Mars tends to be way more emotionally driven than the rest of the Mars placements, and with that, showing emotion when they are angry.
Mars in Pisces passion has to do with the universal principle. Whatever it can do to be more spiritual and transcendentally centered, the better off it will be. Because anger is also a part of Mars’ energy - Mars in Pisces demands we let go of, and surrender to something greater than ourselves. So, if you’re feeling at all angry over the next few weeks, stop and notice what sort of big picture feelings you are experiencing, and look at those, rather than letting your ego run away from itself.
Sun into Capricorn on Thursday, Winter solstice - finally we move into the Winter season on Thursday! Time for hunkering down and perhaps hibernating for the winter. Rest and enjoy the Christmas season too, while you’re at it! Joyeux Noel!!
