Give It Time
I find it interesting how human beings have organized, and named, time. I mean, back in Cave Man days knowing the difference between dusk and dawn would probably save your life. Maybe it was instinct, maybe it was trial and error, but figuring out that it's best to hunt when there is light, and warmly huddle with another human at night probably saved their species. I guess it's logical they eventually came up with a signal for it, and later a sound (later called words).
Then as human mentality began to progress, they probably decided there were times of the day when certain actions were best such as when to hunt, when to eat, and how to fit all that in with sleep. I often wonder if they had word sound for sleep.. Arrg, maybe. Anyway, if we look at the history of the human species there comes a moment in time when they stopped looking, acting and walking like human apes and started looking very familiar! ( I personally think that is when we were found by another planet, or dimension, or bored space ship and they settled in with us...) But whatever the case it became apparent that life was, and still is, based totally on 'need' and 'fear' but how we dealt with it changed. Think about it. We need water and food and a safe place to sleep. Those are the basic needs of every creature, and instinctively we know we must have them and that is where fear kicks in.
Fear is built in to every living creature or none of them would be alive. If we didn't fear dying we would be dead, simple as that. But as time went by humans became more advanced and they began to organize and measure time to make life-needs more identifiable and figure how to fit it in with everything else such as the discovery of enjoyment! I would imagine when human beings discovered fire, cooked the wildebeest, and heard a good drum beat, their life changed quite a bit. Now that they knew when to hunt, when and where to sleep, and had an actual name for it all, then having some fear-free moments was allowed!
But after that things changed. Some beings wanted control over other beings. They divided and identified time, they made things up, and they focused on the fear side of people to gain control. They came up with holy things that people had to follow or they were doomed. They came up with evil things that supposedly also had interesting results. Every person or group who wants control of a place or situation will put some kind of meaning on a moment of time. Anyone who wants control of anyone can make something up and just put it out there to see how it works! (Mothers are really good at that kind of thing.) We seem to enjoy the good and evil track... night and day, hot and cold, fear and pleasure. For some reason humans seem to get bored at the center of things.
The Friday the 13th gig is a lot of fun. A person can think anything they want about it and they are not considered bad or 'holy'. It's a superstition thing that is up to each person, which is long overdue. I mean there comes a day when each person suddenly decides it's not going to break anyone's back if they step on that crack! And what the heck, it's allowed for each person to fear that something just might be behind that big tree in the cemetery and maybe we should light a candle and say hello to our long-gone Grandfather just in case?! I mean I found a tiny, newborn kitten on Friday the 13th! Was it black? No. Did the mother come back for it? No. Did I figure out how to feed and save it? Yes. I called him Baby, he was a regular gray/brown/white stripped cat and I could not think of anything other than gosh, what a good find on Friday the 13th! See, this tells all of us that everything is what we make of it. Everything!
Label your own time in your own way and if it feels right, don't step on that crack, or go ahead and drive the other way if a black cat crosses your path. See, there are times when what we fear is up to us; enjoy the freedom of the process to or from fear... Just remember, make it your choice. Enjoy.
