Tarot Card of the Day by StarzGnosis - 2 of Cups

Jun 1, 2016

Keyword: Attraction Song: "Bright" by Echosmith

In the Rider-Waite Smith version, there are two figures facing each other. Each holds a chalice. In the space between them is a Caduceus with the addition of a lion's head. The Caduceus suggests a negotiation is taking place.

If you haven't heard "Bright"  by Echosmith before go and listen, I'll wait.

Back? Great!

It's a fun little song about new love. It's all about being separate but connected.

My favorite line, "And I see colors in a different way. You make what doesn't matter fade to grey. Life is good and that's the way it should be."

Love can change you. And it should!

It should make you better, happier and excited at first. That's what the 2 of Cups is all about: new love.

The 2 of Cups often appears for budding love. But that's not the only thing it represents.

It also appears for attractions. Those fleeting moments when your eyes cross paths with someone's.

Looking a bit deeper, attraction can apply to business, to ideas, to projects.

What holds your attention right now? Maybe it's a co-worker, or an idea, or a lifestyle?

Whatever it is, or whomever it is, allow it the space to blossom and grow. "A watched pot never boils." A love under the watchful eye cannot grow completely.

Think of it this way, when you were a teenager, (And if you are one, this also applies.) you liked someone your parents didn't approve of. So you sneaked out to do what teenagers do.

I'm not judging! Just stick with me for a minute more.

So this young love relationship grew because you sneaked out. Had you listened to your elders, it wouldn't have grown but withered.

Today, explore your attractions to people and things. Do so in ways that are legal and safe, please.

There's more on the line than disappointing your parents of you're caught. Be smart and careful because I care about y'all!

What if you're happily married and approaching 10, 20, 30 or more years together? What does the 2 of Cups have to say about that?

I'm so glad you asked! The 2 of Cups is also about deep emotional connections. No matter how long you've been together, you can always become closer to your love(s).

Today, form deep emotional ties with others. Allow yourself to be vulnerable. Remove your mask(s).

Show your soft underbelly. Only then will you know what depths this attraction holds.

It's scary and frightening, I know. Maybe you've never done it before.

I get it. For a long time, I was afraid to own who I was.

I didn't tell people I read Tarot. I told them I was a "life coach."

Yeah, you read that right. In Missouri, where I grew up and where my parents live, you're met with fear and "I'll pray for you." Just for saying, "I read Tarot cards."

Fortunately, my spouse got a web development job in SoCal and we moved in 2012. Here, you're met with, "oh, cool!" Or, "will you read my cards?"

To which I reply, "if you'll pay me, sure!" It's nice and refreshing!

So I get it. But you don't have to be afraid or scared. If people react with fear, find accepting people.

The world's too small to stay afraid and isolated!

Fly that freak flag! You'll find other freaks that way.

And people who are freaks are tons more fun than "prim and proper" types. Life's too short to always be proper. Be yourself!

If you don't have anyone to connect with, deepen the connection with your plants or pets. Get to know God/Higher Power or yourself on a deeper level.

What beats at the center of your emotions? What thrills or terrifies you? Why?

Be careful that attraction to yourself doesn't lead to self-importance or self-involvement. Know when to draw the line.

You're a wonderfully beautiful soul! I love you!
