Continuing Luck Into the New Year.

Okay, so you've downed 12 grapes as the clock struck midnight on New Year's Eve, you ate your fill of cabbage and black eyed peas and donuts so now what do you do to bring better luck to you this coming year?

Don't rush out and buy anything in the way of rabbit's feet or four leafed clovers because you might just have things around the house that can help you have a better 2015!

Keep some stick cinnamon in your pocket or purse to bring you a steady income.  If nothing more, it'll make your credit cards smell nice.

Did you eat your lentils on New Year's Day?  Lentils are also said to be a financial good luck charm.

A goldfish kept in an aquarium in your house brings “positivity” and good luck. If you want to push the envelope, you can follow this suggestion: “Normally 8 gold fish are kept with one black fish to remove bad luck.”

Wearing three keys together is said to be good luck as one unlocks the door to health, one to wealth, and one to love, respectively, but also hopefully your building/house door, your apartment/security door alarm, and your car.

An ordinary acorn isn't that ordinary in the luck business.  Possessing one is said to be lucky in the following areas: preserved youth, attraction of the opposite sex, and general prosperity.

Don't go screaming away at this next one, but spiders (yes you read right) are supposed to be good luck in “matters of trade” (and also for weavers), if you've got the courage to let them in to stay...

The alfalfa spice (not to be confused with alfalfa sprouts) is said to be good luck in “business, gambling and personal finances.”

This good luck "charm" requires either extreme tact or a friend with red hair.  Rubbing the head of a person with red hair is said to be good luck, but redheads themselves are also said to be terrible luck on certain specific occasions, like “meeting a redhead on the first morning in May.”  So stick to the other 11 months of the year and you'll do just fine!

White socks?  Yes, another oddity but sworn to by hundreds of people the world over.  But good luck keeping them clean!

A money plant is supposed to bring wealth to the house, just not as directly as you’d imagine/hope.

A Bezoar???  OK so you might not already have this item (which is a ball of undigested hair and food fiber from “the gut of an animal”) in your house already, and if so, eeeww? But if you can get one, it’s lucky, and if you’re Ron Weasley, it might save you someday.

Another item you might not just have handy is a racoon  baculum (go look it up, I'm not making this up).  It's supposed to bring you good luck and fertility.
