Onyx has always been known to be a stone of duality. It is as aggressive for the negative as it is for the positive. the first things I learned many years ago was Onyx, was that anyone who isn’t wanting to get pregnant, wear it, but it also drops your sexual desires as well. I had a few girls ask me, “why isn’t anyone attracted to me?”, I immediately pointed to their rings or earrings which were made of onyx. I just wanted to get that out of the way for now. Onyx is strength giving, it gives support in confusing or difficult times or someone who is under a lot of mental stress. If you center your energy with it, it will help access a higher guidance, it will help us to connect to the whole. It also assists us to see the future and to help us be the masters of our own destiny. Onyx is a stone of stamina and vigor. There are many legends in different cultures when it comes to this stone. It is a great stone to use when we are in a learning process as well. Onyx is a secretive stone, it has always reminded me of the Sphinx in Egypt, as the Sphinx means, keeper of secrets. Onyx is a black agate, but there are those that have veins of white or dark brown or red that run through them, then it is called Sardonyx. there are others that have been found in additional colors such as blue, green and a couple others. Remember, different colors within a stone or a different color stone in general has additional attributes along with the basic properties. Some end worry, justice, concentration, balance of duality and more. It is a wonderful stone for centering and aligning the total person with the higher powers that be. It may be used for intuitive guidance and cleansing. It may give us the feeling of being protected by the Light and that we are watched over by Angels, feeling loved and easing loneliness. The ones that are mixed that look like and agate are just beautiful. There is so much more to this stone and its powers, it is worth a look. 😊
