Sorry to break it to you, but certain "healthy" foods aren't really healthy at all.

Even if a product labels itself as "organic" or "low-fat" in big, bright letters and bold font, eating it may be doing more harm for your body than good. In fact, when it comes to peanut butter, you might be better off with the generic version or even opting for something else entirely. Experts maintain that the healthiest way to enjoy peanut butter is by looking for the products with the shortest ingredient list!

Smoothies are actually packed with more sugar than you'll ever know. And when it comes to high-fiber bars, just know that many of them are merely glorified candy bars, packed with sugar and carbs!

Dieticians and nutritionists know that some foods aren't as healthy as they seem. Here are the foods that the experts will avoid at all costs.

Juice cleanses

No matter how many celebrities may swear by the rejuvenation juice cleanses offer their bodies, this fad is actually full of sugar and lacks the fiber required for a healthy diet.

Reduced-fat peanut butter

Don't be fooled by its name! When the fat comes out, sodium and sugar go in. Look for products with the fewest ingredients possible.

Cereals with natural sugars

They may sound healthier, but sugar and syrup made from fruit should not replace eating actual fruit.

High-fiber granola bars

Basically, these chocolate-drizzled treats are candy bars disguised as fiber bars. Dieticians say to opt for foods that are naturally high in fiber, like veggies, beans or nuts.

Diet sodas

They may be advertised as better for you than regular soda, but they contribute nothing to your diet and often contain artificial chemicals thought to increase food cravings.

Smoothies

Did you know that many smoothies have 400 calories and 50 grams of sugar? Make sure to put these colorful drinks on your "bad" list!

Fruit-flavored yoga

Fruit and yogurt sound like two healthy combinations, fruit-flavored yogurts are actually loaded with sugar. Experts maintain to go for plain yogurt and add fresh fruit for some additional nutrients!
