Hematite is one of the stones that's known to “heal” itself. Quartz is another, but it is said that if you were to scratch hematite, then rub it, the scratch will be gone. It is a common stone so it is easy to find, but, there is a stone called Hemalyke. This is a synthetic stone that is made to look like hematite, but it carries no healing energies or magical properties. Hematite is a stone of the mind. It aligns as well as harmonizes the mind, body and spirit. It also strengthens and balances the yin/yang energy meridians. It rids the energy of negativity before getting a chance to enter the aura. Hematite has been known to be used in divination all over the world. Its name base is Greek, meaning blood. In ancient times it was called Bloodstone, so that isn’t to be confused with the bloodstone we have today. Getting back to the greek base, it has been said that when this stone is cut that it will turn water red like blood, that is why it was called bloodstone instead of hematite. Its energizes us, bringing joy into our lives, also ridding the mind of dark thoughts, also inspiring us to feel kindness for others as well as ourselves. Hematite assists with any communication skills, also it strengthens our ability for astral projection. It gives us clear and focused thoughts, also giving us a calm reasoning of things. Hematite has also been said to attract good relationships, it is a wonderful stone to use for meditation as it brings peace and inner happiness. 😊
