According to eternalight-astrology.com, with two planetary retrogrades and Mars in tactical Scorpio, 2016 was off to a slow, but gradual and deliberate start. As the New Year set in, Jupiter’s retrograde station at 23°14? Virgo, on January 7, encouraged us to slow down, pull back and make sure we weren’t wandering off the Path that is right for us.
When in retrogradation, planets reflect a contemplative, internalized turn of the energy they represent. In keeping with the cyclical laws of our Universe, retrogrades orchestrate the ebbs and flows of our existence, allowing us to pause and re-evaluate the spheres of life that fall under their domain. With cosmic wanderer Jupiter’s backspin through the meticulous sign of the Virgin, it’s like the Universe is handing us a looking glass through which we’re meant to review the broader map of our journey, down to the finest details, and make the necessary course corrections in case we’re deviating from our trajectory.
Until today, May 9, the day of the direct station, at 13°15? of Virgo, we may have experienced a deceleration of the pace of our growth; however, in case we were steaming ahead without consideration for what is truly best for us, a few hold-ups and delays were necessary for us to draw on our inner wisdom, in order to better evaluate what's come our way so far, and whether or not the latest developments are aligned with our beliefs, purpose and quest for happiness. It’s been the perfect time to integrate our broader vision and larger plan with the details we’ve missed, and determine which opportunities held real staying power and actual potential to blossom into solid realities. Even though it might have been shocking to witness people and situations we used to rely on, but weren’t really adding to our growth, getting jettisoned from our life, it’s important to adjust accordingly and stay open to the new possibilities that fill up the emptied spaces. This is not the end of our journey; we were merely dropping the burden in excess so that we could get closer to our destination.
This process of Soul-searching and re-evaluation has caused Virgoan themes to pop: service, health, and technical skills, and their respective roles in fostering, or undermining, our recent (specifically happening from October 12, 2015, date of Jupiter’s ingress in the shadow zone) expansion, our progress, our faith and capacity for understanding. Issues related to the house Jupiter has been moving through in the Birth Chart also have come up for review. Our analytical assessment of the present circumstances came under question, and required further elaboration, but there was no need to push too hard: paying due attention to inner feelings and intuitions over these subjects should cause insights to unfold spontaneously.
Jupiter will leave the retrograde zone on August 7. By then, we should finally have a handle on what hopes, beliefs and concrete situations are more suited to our next level of inner growth.
